A library hall fallen quiet, ivy through the window, its doors closed
Why this is private

Talebrary began as something I built for my own children — a way into interactive fiction that works on a phone, suggests what you might type next, and looks inviting. Screen readers and translation were meant to follow. The aim was a wider audience for these games, never to take anything from them.

Some of that relied on AI, including generated artwork, and that has made people in the interactive fiction community uncomfortable. These are their works, freely given, and how they are presented is fairly their concern. Causing upset was never my intention, so rather than press on I have made Talebrary a private library instead.

Had it ever earned anything, I intended that to go to the Interactive Fiction Technology Foundation. My thanks to everyone who writes and keeps these games alive.
